Congratulations Nouvelle Alliance – SCAA Sr Boys’ Golf Champions

Congratulations to Nouvelle Alliance, this year’s SCAA Senior Boys Golf Championship team, coached by Sylvain Laramee!  Their two-day total score of 627 gave them a 2-stroke victory over second-place Eastview (629) and a 3-stroke margin over the defending champions from Barrie North (630). Nouvelle Alliance won the SCAA title Sept. 28th at the GBSSA qualifier #2 at Tangle Creek Golf Course.

GBSSA Sr Boys’ Golf Championship Results – Oct. 4th

Congratulations to all for an outstanding GBSSA Championship tournament today at Tangle Creek Golf and Country Club.  The weather, despite an ominous forecast, held up throughout the main tournament.  But when we needed to go to a playoff to determine our 2nd individual OFSAA qualifier for the second consecutive year, we went from dry on Hole #1, to drizzle on Hole #2, to full-on rain on Hole #3, to finally near-monsoon conditions on playoff Hole #4…

…which was won by Jack Alward of Jean Vanier in Collingwood, who outlasted Parker Lee of Eastview and Joe MacNeil from Patrick Fogarty, after they all tied with outstanding rounds of 2-over 74.  He will be joining last year’s champion Abe Holmes from Barrie North, who will be heading to OFSAA once again after winning his second GBSSA Senior Boys Individual Championship with an incredible round of 7-under 65, tying his own GBSSA record low score from two weeks earlier.  And speaking of defending champions, congratulations once again to St. Theresa’s, whose Senior Boys Golf Team will be once again representing the GBSSA at OFSAA in Kingsville next week.   We wish these athletes the best of luck as they compete against the finest high school golfers in the province October 11th and 12th.

Special thanks to Tim Zado and his Golf Management Program team from Georgian College for providing commemorative gifts to all of today’s participants, as well as Richard Edmonds and Mackenzie Cuthbert of Tangle Creek for all of their support throughout the golf season.
